Explosions on board when workers with cutting torches work in explosive atmospheres due to oil residues in the ships. It is common practice in Bangladesh and in Turkey. So are the injuries and casualties. Bangladesh does not enforce the mandating of gas-free and fit for hot works certificates. Also Pakistan, Turkey and China are believed not to enforce these certificates.
