I volunteered in a campaign against
air pollution. It was the first action ever in Belgium and
we climbed a chimney. After that I was asked to run the toxics
campaign, and here I am 19 years later in the same position.
I have had the privilege to do campaigns
with direct results. For example: waste ships in Belgium.
We did fifteen actions to stop the ships from dumping and
burning waste on the sea. Finally five of these ships were
scrapped and then the United Nations took stand against waste
ships, due to the work we had done.
